Gone for a long time, the VW Passat is all set to make a rebound.
Volkswagen is finally ready to launch the new Passat in India and it will be the producer’s second dispatch of the year after the Tiguan. To begin with exhibited at the 2016 Auto Expo, this is the eighth era model of the vehicle. The Passat will be offered in a solitary Highline variation just, which is required to be valued at Rs 32 lakh.
Coming to the looks, the new Passat gets a streamlined design. At the front, a 3-slat grill is flanked by double barrel LED headlamps that also house the LED DRLs. On the side, a sharp shoulder line runs across the profile adding to its sleek stance. The rear looks quite similar to its predecessor with split LED tail lamps and dual exhaust setup.
The new Passat is 4767mm long, 1832mm wide and 1476mm tall which is 2mm shorter, 12mm wider and 13mm lower than its predecessor. The wheelbase on the new sedan has also grown by 75mm.
The Passat is relied upon to be controlled by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder diesel motor delivering 177PS of power, which will be sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed double grasp DSG gearbox.
