Maruti Suzuki Celerio facelift is expected to come sporting design changes on the exterior and inside the cabin; could get a touchscreen infotainment system
Maruti Suzuki Celerio is one of the most popular and bestselling hatchbacks from the Indo-Japanese automaker. Launched in 2014, the current model is certainly due for a makeover and it will come in refreshed appearance. The Celerio can be credited as the affordable model responsible for making AMT transmission a reality for the masses.
Due to the less than desirable looks and increased competition from new rivals like the Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago, the Celerio has lost ground by a certain degree. In order to stand its stead in the first-time buyers’ volume small hatchback segment, there has to be some essential changes made and we expect Maruti to implement them on the facelifted Celerio.
We expect it to come bearing a sturdy external appearance while the updated interiors could be accompanied by improved features list to take the challenge right into the ballroom of Renault Kwid. The safety features are expected to improve by quite a lot as well.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Price
Currently the Celerio small car is sold in 14 variants across one engine and manual as well as AGS (AMT) transmission options. Price for the base LXi variant begins at Rs. 4.05 lakh and it goes up to Rs. 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the ZXi AMT ABS version. Expect a price hike between Rs. 20,000-40,000 across the trim levels on the facelifted model.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Engine Specifications
On the powertrain front, the India-spec Celerio gets power from a 1.0-litre K10B three-cylinder petrol engine capable of churning out 67 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox and there is a very popular and much appreciated AGS also. The CNG equipped engine is only offered in the VXi trim and it makes 59 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 78 Nm at 3,500 rpm and is mated to a five-speed manual only. Maruti Suzuki is unlikely to make changes on the mechanical front because it may involve additional costs to be pushed on to the customers. In a price sensitive segment like the one the Celerio competes in, significant risks are seldom taken

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Mileage
The fuel economy figures for the upcoming Celerio facelift will get a little improvement we reckon. Part of the reason would be Maruti’s ability to eke more from its existing engines. Therefore, the claimed efficiency could hover around 25 kmpl for regular petrol (MT and AMT) and 33 kmpl for CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Exterior
It appears to take inspiration from the recently launched Ignis as well. Could come featuring identical headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Light and perhaps a similar, more pronounced front grille too as far as our predictions go. Apart from that, the fog lamp would get chrome highlight enhancing the style further.
At the side profile, the small hatchback might get black moulding giving it a crossover look, while the alloy wheels would get a new design. Apart from that, it would come with turn indicator integrated body coloured ORVMs, blackened A and B pillar along with a part of the C pillar blackened out, delivering a floating roof design to enhance its appeal further on the top-end trims. The sharper character lines and sleek roof rail increase the overall style even more. The rear fascia may get integrated roof spoiler. It could get new design taillight and an updated bumper as well. Therefore, the chances of Celerio facelift getting a more contemporary and attractive look compared to its current appearance is very high
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Dimensions
Proportion wise, the Celerio facelift will continue to remain the same. It measures a length of 3,600 mm, width of 1,600 mm, height of 1,560 mm and has a sufficient wheelbase for its segment at 2,425 mm. The fuel tank can be brimmed to reach a capacity of 35 litres.

As the dimensions of the Celerio facelift is expected to stay the same, so has the maximum volume in which the trunk can hold. It stores 235 litres of your essential carrying stuff or other things currently.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Tyre Size
We suppose the new Celerio will have tyre size of 13-inches for the entry-level variants while the top-end ZDi models will get access to 14-inch steel wheels with a new design.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift Interiors
Changes would be introduced inside as well in an attempt to make the popular hatchback attractive and upmarket. It could get a Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system, which will put it on par with the Hyundai i10 and more features similar to the well-received Renault Kwid.
Apart from that, seat and upholstery materials would get improved as well with dashboard receiving piano black touches for increased upmarket feel. The overall design layout of the cabin will remain the same but there will be more feature add-ons to take the fight to Renault Kwid according to our expectations. A dual-tone colour scheme with sporty elements can be expected in the due course following the debut of the facelift. The seats may get more comfortable while Maruti is likely to introduce additional safety features in this little hatchback as well to give it an edge over the Kwid. Currently, the top-spec Celerio gets beige and black upholstery, Bluetooth enabled music system and electric wing mirrors.
