Bajaj Auto Limited launched the new Dominar 400 earlier this year. This is the company’s new flagship model that takes on a new level of performance. It is the most affordable power cruiser will sporty features among which are an aggressive stance with muscular fuel tank, full LED headlamps with Auto Headlamp On feature, massive tyres and dual LCD instrument cluster with 1 screen. The Dominar 400 offers a comfortable ride and some high speed stability.

Dominar 400 gets a front suspension of 43mm telescopic forks and multi step adjustable Nitrox monoshock at the rear. It sits on new alloy wheels fitted with 110/70 section front and 150/60 section rear radial tyres. Braking is via large 320mm disc in the front and 230mm at the rear with radially mounted Bybre calipers. Dominar 400 gets Anti Lock Braking System as an option that allows the biker to take on higher speeds and with safe braking facility.
Engine specifications on the Dominar 400 includes a 373cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, four valve engine that offers 35 PS power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission via slipper clutch arrangement.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is possible in 8.23 seconds with braking from 100 to 0 kmph in a distance of 46.19 meters. The Dominar 400 has efficiently tackled high altitudes in Ladakh upto 18,380 feet and has gradient ability of 45 degrees. Ground clearance is at 157mm and fuel tank capacity is at 13 liters.
In terms of competition, the Bajaj Dominar 400 competes with the Mahindra Mojo, DSK Benelli TNT 25, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500, KTM 390 Duke and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
