Audi has hinted to launch two all-electric cars
Audi has hinted to launch two all-electric cars before 2020, which would be marking its debut in the segment on the global platform. Moreover, the German auto giant has also hinted to bring one of them to India provided the market here is ready for the electric vehicles by that time.
Audi is very popular in the Indian auto industry for manufacturing luxury cars ranging from Sedans to SUVs. On completion of the tenth year in India, the car maker has promised to launch an electric car in Indian auto market, subject to demand and proper infrastructure. Moreover, the feasibility of the electric cars in India should also be taken into account.
Recently implemented GST in India made the luxury cars from Audi significantly cheaper, which was a good news for both the manufacturer and buyers. But after the increase of additional cess in the luxury cars, the prices are about to rise once again, which will be a huge setback for the company’s future plans.
Strategy of Government
The Indian government is planning to make India an all-electric vehicle market by 2030, which, however, will be a boost for Audi’s target to come up with an electric vehicle. It can also be assumed that the Government of India might join hands with various manufacturing companies in order to execute their ambitious plan.
Now, it is up to the government to take the initiative to build an improved infrastructure for the survival of electric vehicles in India. The most important among them is sufficient charging stations, which are required to be installed across the country. Additionally, an initiative should be taken to train people regarding the right usage of the electric cars and also, numerous service centers should be set up across the country.
